  • Change permalinks or slugs on a blog.
  • Change permalinks or slugs on a web page.
  • Insert blog headings to blog using keywords.
  • Format an SEO friendly blog heading.

  • Add Alt Text to images.
  • Navigate WP website analytics.

Prerequisites

  • Create a WP account
  • Load your website editor
  • Learn how to build a website using WP

WP Home dashboard:

Site Visibility

Go to WP Admin

WP Admin

Then go to Comments -> Settings -> Reading -> Check these buttons

Go back to Settings and save changes.

Look at the permalinks on your WP website logs and pages.

Tip: URL contains words that are easy to read by search engines.

Load your website from the WP account

Change your permalinks

  • Make URL slug shorter
  • Separate words with hyphens
  • The slug has to be unique

Example:

The same considerations apply to the page URL. Go back to home dashboard and go to Pages. Then go to Sites -> Pages and update the URL.

Press Update when you are done.

Headings

Create a new post. Copy/paste a text from the Word document in your folder. We should see the keywords highlighted. Let’s format the blocks by selecting Heading

Go back to the home dashboard and select the post

Go back to the text highlighted and Paste your URL.

Paste your link

Save the Draft.

Tags/Categories

Go back to dashboard and click Tags and Categories.

Categories

Create the Parent Categories and all relevant sub-Categoris.

Tags

Tags – submit all relevant keywords with comments.

Let’s add another image.

WP image.

Add new Tag and click relevant Categories.

Alt Text

Alt text = description of an image. Enhance user experience by typing a nice text. And then click Done.

Analytics

Go Home -> Website Tools (Marketing) and Stats (Analytics).
